What
targets will you set yourself for G324 next year – when you will make a
trailer?
We haven't set a time yet to when we will release a trailer but it will probably be out a few months before the film so that the audience have some time to view it and that they won't have to wait that long for the film to be released.
The targets that I will set myself for next year is to:
;Get all the filming done on the same day so that the scenery is all the same and that nothing is changed.
;Make sure that all the scenes are filmed perfectly e.g. no background noises and that the scenes are made to look real.
;To try and get better props so that they look more realistic and so they fit in with the film.
;To try and add as much skills and techniques as possible e.g. try and use all camera shots/angles.

Analysis of different aspects in our opening 2 minutes of the film EVALUATION 7
Evaluation activity 7: Looking back at your preliminary task (the continuity editing task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
From the premliminary tasks that I did back at the begining of the year I have improved greatly between the premliminary task and then the full product, my camera work and editing skills have improved alot. Just simply looking at the task and the final product you can clearly see that the swiftness between the scenes is much better. Another thing is when it came to cutting the scenes that improved greatly because at the ending of the one that I did in the Hall there was a part that we didnt need in the short clip and we didnt cut it out, but now looking at our final film we made all the scenes seamless and have no parts in them that are irelevant, so it flows nicely.
Another thing that you can see has improved between the two is that the variation and creatiity of the camera angles. The camera is also alot more steady.
In the final product that we made, the range of shots we used was much larger than the range of ones that we did in the two premliminary tasks. We used the 180 degree rule, shot reverse, panning, high/low and establishing shots.
Through out the progession to the full production we learnt and realised ourselves as a group that we did need to use a better camera to the one that we had been using before. With a better camera our film would appeal to the audience more and it would also be able to cope with the action shots that we had going on in our film.

Evaluation activity 6: What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
On the left this is the equipment that we used to record our film with, we used a tripod for some parts to keep the camera still and then the camera we used varied between the one in the picture and a DSLR which gave a better picture. Lastly the cable hanging off of the camera is how we put the video onto the computer so that we could then edit it.
Through out creating our film we have used lots of bits of software and hardware. The image of Ryan on the left is where he is using the Adobe Premiere Elements 10 which is what we used to piece together our film. Its was very simple to use and it did the job well. We didnt use any other software over the course of making our film but we did you Blogger to do updates and used YouTube to add our final film so that people can view it.On the left this is the equipment that we used to record our film with, we used a tripod for some parts to keep the camera still and then the camera we used varied between the one in the picture and a DSLR which gave a better picture. Analysis of different aspects in our opening 2 minutes of the film EVALUATION 5
How did you attract/ address your audience?
To attract the audience through out our film we decided that we should have a fast paced action/chase scene which would keep the audience alert to what is happening within the film and that they wont want to take their eyes off the screen because anything could happen e.g. Ryan or Aaron being shot or hit by a car.
Another way to attract the audience was that we would have 2 special items within the scenes, that would be the main objects in the film.We used these through out the film to show that they were important objects and that the audience were always wanting to know what is inside the briefcase and what is on the disc. By knowing whats on these it would give the audience a great idea of what is happening but they never find out. By not giving anything away it means that the audience stay attracted to the film as they are desperate to know whats inside the object.

Analysis of different aspects in our opening 2 minutes of the film EVALUATION 4
Evaluation Task 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
The audience for our media film is 16 year olds upwards to middle aged. The reason for the film being a 16+ is because there is swearing in the film but it is minimal andthere are fighting scenes with weapons such as a pistol which all of these ccan be a bad influence on a younger audience.
The reason that i say that it ranges up to middle aged people is because it is a fast moving film which the elderly might not like and not be interested in. ALso it might be quite hard for the elderly to understand what the plot is for the film and ehat is going on and so they probably wont enjoy it.
The film is aimed at men more than woman. Roughly every 1 in 5 would be woman when watching the film. This is because there is no romance in the film and no happy ending which is not the typical stereotypes of woman and so it aimed more at the male audience. As we have lots of fighting, chase scenes and cliffhangers it means that it is converting to the typical stereotypes of males and so they will enjoy the film more.
It is aimed more at a slightly younger male audience from 16- 25 as the characters with in the film are this age and so they will engage with the film better. It is aimed at above 25 year olds but they will probably not enjoy it as much as the younger males.

Media Institutions:
There are many types of media institutions. These are Universal, Warner Bros, 20 Century Fox, Sky and many more.
We decided to go with Universal as they have released films present and in the past that our similar to ours and so we thought this would be the ideal media institutions to go with. A film that has been released by Universal is Fast and Furious 6 (May 14th 2013).
This is a very popular film hence that's why they have made 6 films but this film can be related to ours. Both films have action and adventure within them with deals taking place and fight scenes are regularly happening.
Another film released by Universal that is similar to ours is Robin Hood (2010). This once again is similar as there is lots of fighting and action but also a lot of drama and cliff-hangers.
Other media institutions like Warner Bros and 20th century fox did release films similar to ours but we all decided to go with Universal as we believe its more popular meaning that it can gain more publicity and that there are more films released within Universal similar to ours.

Film production mark
Film production mark after moderation is 36. The title of your film is great, but then the titles don't continue - you need titles for actors, editor, producer, director (in this order). You could also use music in the background to create suspense. Fiddling with these two aspects could improve your mark

Analysis of different aspects in our opening two minutes of the film EVALUATION 2
How does
your media product represent particular social groups?
I am comparing Aaron and James Bond
Task 2- How does your media product represent particular social groups
There are many similarities but also many differences between Aaron and James Bond.
The similarities are that they both have the same appearance as each other. This means that they are both looking very serious in the shot, so it shows that they are focused. Also they both trying to solve a problem which in Aaron's case is to stop Ryan from running away with the baggage. The camera angle and the fading in and out is both the same. As you can see the picture is clear on both of their faces and so this could suggest that the camera is trying to attract to their emotions where as down the picture the image start to become blured which adds effect to the scene. Another similarity is that they are both the main characters within there film and that they always try to make themselves look the best meaning that in our film Aaron is the most smartly dressed as is James Bond in his film.
The differences between the two of them are that are that James bond is in a full suit compasred to Aaron where he is wearing a hoodie underneath and so the audience will feel that they are not much a like. Another difference is that they are from different backgrounds. Aaron is russian born and works for Russian governemt (KGB) where as James bond is English born and works for the MI6

Analysis of different aspects in our opening two minutes of the film EVALUATION 1
Analysis of different aspects in our opening two minutes of the film
The title of the film:
In the middle image we see the title of the film shown in bold capital letters to intice the audience in to the film. We can also get an idea of the location as you can see it clearly in the background which means that it can be linked in the setting and location area.
Setting/ location
In the second image we see Ryan standing on his own with Aaron holding a gun up to him in the background we see a lot of trees and a river nearby to suggest that this location is very discrete and this was an ideal area for the deal to be taking place. It gives the audience a real idea of what the surrounding setting are like.
Costumes and props
In the last image we see Ed holding a briefcase. This gives us and the audience the intension that this breifcase if the main prop for the film and that this object could decide who dies at the end e.g. there could be an explosive bomb inside or some sort of weapon. The audience will never find out.
Camerawork and editing
In image 6 we see Ryan walking off in to the distance with the briefcase in his hand. We can see that the image is slighlt faded and discolured compared to the others. This is because this scene is where the film is coming out of the flashback and in to the real life scene again which suggest a lot of editing has been done to get that image like that.
Title font and style
In the seventh image we see a picture of Aaron crouching down. As we can see there is his name above his head. As you can see the writting is quite large and clear to see but looking back we should have made all the letters capitals so that we can keep the font and style the same as the title.
Story and how the opening sets it up
In the opening scenes we see a deal taking place between Ed and Ryan. this suggests that the film is action and that from that point on wards there could be a lot more fighting a chasing taking place. By doing a deal it excites the audience as something dramatic can occur but also leave them bemussed as they are desperate to know what content is on the disc and whats in the briefcase.
Genre and how the opening suggests it
In screen shot 8 we can see an image of Ryan running over a bridge away from Aaron chashing him behind. This gives the audience an immediate effect that the film is action as it has chase scenes, fighting and deals taking place.

How characters are introduced
In the 3rd image we see a picture of Ed with his name written above his head. This is how we introduce all of the characters within the film and they are always in the shot when introduced. We decided to carry on with the large and bold font that we used in the title as it stands out and really tells the audience who is within the film.
Special effects
In the fourth images we see Ryan firing a gun with a flash at the end of it. This suggets that there has been a lot of editing done to it but mainly that it is a special effect that the audience wont expect until they see it. Looking at others and their films we didnt see many flashes or gun sounds and so by doing this, it is slightly different. The timing with the sound and flash is perfect and so it will look like the bullet was actually shot.

Soundtrack research 2
sound track reasearch 2
This sound track is good, however it could be used for certain sections of are film such as the chase scene maybe. Their use of drums however can be could change of effect for the fight scene as the drums could be a representation. However I find that this soundtrack will be good if went straight into a chase scene but because we don’t, it won't be ideal. It also doesn’t consist as fast enough tempos as other soundtracks I have researched.

Sound track research 1
This sound track is highly interesting as it uses a range of tempos throughout the song. This would be ideal for are piece as are tempo changes due to the flashback. The songs tempo starts of slowy so we can use this when are actors are making the deal or walking. When the tempo is fast this will be the start of something exhilarating within are film such as the fight scene or the chase. The song uses uses string instruments and drumbs this make the soundtrack highly dramatic and heart pounding. However, over all we cannot use this as it would be copyright of the jason bourne.

Consideration of representation and stereotyping
Stereotyping:
We used a lot of male stereotyping throught out our film. The main male stereotypes are that they like a fighting scene e.g punching, a chase scene, violence e.g guns, knives etc and some sort of romance. we had most of these in our film except romance. Examples or what we used were that Me and Ed had a punch scene. This will excite the male audience as it it converting their typical stereotypes and that males always want to see a winner and someone being beaten up or killed. We also had a chase scene. This once again will excite the male audience as they love having fast scenes e.g. in James Bond their is constantly fast scenes. Also males love to be the hero and so they can see themselves chasing after the villian and saving the day. We didnt use romance as we believed that our film is mainly aimed at a male audience as romance is converting the typical female stereotypes and so it wasnt needed.
Representation:
Ryan (Villian): Ryan is dressed in normal clothes as he wants to be able to blend in with the people around him. this will keep im undercover and out of sight of anyone noticing anything suspicious. He has a briefcase to suggest that he doesnt want to give anyhthing way which means he might be quite a secretive person.
Ed (Dealer) : Ed is dressed in normal clothes just like Ryan and once again he is trying to blend in with others but be quite secretive as a big deal is taking place and he doesnt want to be seen as part of it. He wore his hoodie up to make sure that anyone overlooking does not see his face.
Aaron (Hero) : Aaron is dreesed in a smart suit so it already gives us and the audience the idea that he will play a big part in the movie and that he must have a good profession being that smartly dressed. He does not blend in as much as not many people would wear a suit without a good reason e.g. they could be going to work or meeting but we just see Aaron walking down an alleyway following Ryan which could make people suspicious.

What are you doing here practising filming
What are you doing here (camera shots)
What are we doing here
Evaluation
in my media group we used the dynamic camera shots and angles very well which presented a very succsesfull left out sceane in which cory was the victim, the specific shots that we used was an over the shoulder shot which gives the audiance a strong effect and a point of view shot of what cory has been seeing during the sceane. We then used a tracking shot of the antagonist group walking away from cory the outkast showing the audiance the perspective of the antagonist group, we also used close up shots of the 4 characters to show the emotions that were happening throuought the seane espessially cory the outkast of the group giving the audiance an insight of cory's extreame emotions as shown with a worry face during the end of the sceane.
The weaknesses of our sceane would be ryans take on being fustrated with cory's persistance of trying to be involved with the group as ryan fustratingly ran towards cory with next shot reverse shot not having him in the sceane with cory, not showing the audiance a flowing sceane. We could improve this by have a fast paced tracking shot of ryan moving towards cory's worry face giving the audiance a real perspective of the sceane.
Audience Research
Audience research:
The audience that would be attracted to our film would be mainly males. this is because you have the typical male interests like chase scenes, fighting and death and secrecy. It will also attract a male audience more as their is only male characters with in the film.
If there were females then a female audience might be more slightly intwerested as there could be scenes of romance which is the typical stereotypes of females.
The main age range for our film will be for higher aged teeneager like 16+ to middle/old aged men. This is because the film goes at quite a fast rate e.g. there are running scenes and the fighting happens quite quickly and so it wouldnt be suited to the elderly as they are unable to be like this e.g. running fast.
It can also be aimed to middle aged men as there is some sort of mystery to it aswell like what what is in the briefcase and what content might there be on the disc.
Our target audience is roughly the same to films like James bond because of the action and fast flowing movement but it doesnt have the romance side.
Overall our target audience is mainly males aged 16 to roughly 50s/60s

Titles Practise
We created this when we were practicing making our titles. This was very basic and we thought that this was perhaps more of a horror film opening title. Because this was created before we acctually made the film we didnt realise that when we were making our film that the title 'The Exploit' could be used when there is a panning shot right at the beginning. And instead of having by Aaron Ryan and Ed on a seperate screen we placed our names by us when we appeared in the film.
Interview Ed
The question that we asked Ed were:
How will you stay in character when filming?
How will you use your props?
Interview Aaron

Software that we our using for the editing of our film
Software
The software that we are going to use is Adobe Premiere Elements 11. We chose this out of the range of other movie editing pieces of software because it is the most accessible and simplest there is. The school computers have it and I also have it at allowing us to edit the film at school and at my house. It is very clear and a suitable range of tools that we will be needing.
The sort of things that it will do for us is render the video, reduce the camera shake, allows over lapping of layers of music/ sound, pictures and videos. The main effects that we will be adding to the opening two minutes will be a muzzle flash when Ryan fires the gun and also the sound of the gun and the bullet dropping, we wanted to add this as we wanted to try and make a toy gun look as real as possible.

Documenting on Influences of Production
Documenting on Influences of Production:
When filming our film we used a wide range of camera shots really show the expressions of each character.
The first camera shot that we used quite a lot was low angle shots on every character but mainly the villain and hero. This is because we wanted to show how they stand out from the others and at that moment in time they were in complete control.
We also used the odd one or two over the shoulder shots. This worked really well for our film as we could see facial expressions clearly when characters were close together and could see reactions from long distance. An example of the is when Ed (the dealer) asks Ryan (the villia) to come back after they have exchanged in the deal. we can see Ed's expressions which angry and annoyed where as Ryan's expressions are quite worried.
Another camera angle that we used was a high angle shot which is the opposite to a low angle. We used this angle when one of the characters was in a bad situation. An example of this is when Ryan has been struck to the floor by Ed the dealer. This shows that he has become unpowerful and an easy target and as he is the villian, the audience feel happy and comftable about the situation.
Dairy of filming / editing part 3
We then agreed that I and Aaron should walk along side the river to add anxierty as an incident could happen where one of them gets thrown in to the river but this didnt occur as it would be to hard to film and get right and is very dangerous.
In the film the audience then see me and Aaron run across a road and down an alleyway. This will once again add anxiety as there is a high risk that one of us could be struck by a vechicle. we then came to a decision that we should use mostly eye level camera shots for the rest of the film as none of the characters are in control of the situation.
We agreed that I would come to a stop and that I could go no further so that the audience could see a stand-off and they could choose who they think will be killed which will leave them excited and annoyed that they dont find out the result.
Before the stand-off we did have mixed decisions in to wether we should have some sort of obstacle in the way so that it carrys on adding drama for the film instead of running. We were unable to have an obstancle as we couldnt find one and if we did it would be hard to place it in to the film and it would be hard to edit.

After our discussion about what order you should finish your

Actors and props photos and interviews post
As a group you will film your Diary of Filming and Editing
with screen grabs and photos – you will discuss the setting/location, actors,
props and narrative in your opening.
Dairy of filming / editing part 2
We now had everything set and ready for our film but we were just deciding what day we should do. Due to bad weather around our filming deadline dates we had to choose one day to film that we were all free and that the weather was decent. So we looked on the weather website and it showed that it was raining everyday except Sunday but the bonus was that all of us could do it on that day and so we started then.
As we arrived at our location we were undecided to where to start filming. Some of us said that we could start and the bottom of the hill by the river and then run up the high strret and in to the car park but we didnt choose this as it would be discrete enough to do a deal. Another idea was that we could run down next to the mole but that was a dead end and there were no alleyways nearby. So we eventually decided that we should start next to the river on a set of steps as we could use a low angle shot on the villain to show his dominance straight away.
The shots ran through smoothly and then we decided that Ed should hit me with full force to excite the audience that the villian is going to die and that it has all gone wrong for him. This worked well as we captured the important parts of the action but it did take a few tries to try and get the scene to look good as it was all happening in an instant.

Dairy of filming / editing part 1
To start the process of planning and thinking about what our film would consist of we decided our groups and then immediately decided what sort of genre our film would be. Aaron, Ed and I all decided that we would do an action film as we thought that it would be the easiest to make/produce and would look if we got everything right as it will be fast paced.
As we were doing our blogs in the It room we came with some ideas of where we would plot the film. Some of ideas were that we could do it in the school, go in to Guildford where there were lots of small dark alleys but we all agreed that we would do it by the river Mole in Leatherhead as there were alleyways here and the area is quite discrete working perfectly for our film.
Once we had came up with the ideas for the setting we decided on what sort of costumes and props we would wear. We all thought of the same idea that we needed a weapon of some sort as somone would die. We then agreed that having a briefcase would be a great idea as it gave the audience a dilema as they would not know what was in it. Other prop included a disc which we actually decided to use on the day of filming .
Then we moved on to costumes. I came up with the idea that the hero should wear a smart suit so that the audience falls with him as he is the savior of the day. Ed said that I, the villain should wear just normal clothes for the opposite reason of the hero e.g. so that none of the audience would want the villain to succeed which is the normal stereotypes of villains. Aaron and I said to Ed that he should wear normal clothes as well as he is partly a villain aswell and that this is the clothes that a dealer would wear anyway.

Own Film Treatment
Own Film Treatment:
In the first few scenes we see the villian ( Ryan) walking down an alleyway followed by the hero ( Aaron). Ryan is holdiong a briefcase in one hand and a disc in the other so it gives the intension that he has stolen it given the steroetypes of a villain.
The audience then understand that we go in to a flashback and now we see Ryan walking down some steps and comes across a dealer (Ed). We see the deal take place with Ryan handing over the briefcase and ed handing over the disc. Then a problem occurs as Ed feels that he has been mugged off. he calls Ryan back and then smacks him around the face leaving him lying helpless on the floor. As Ed goes to punch consistently, Ryan pulls out a pistol and shoots him right in the stomach causing Ed to fall and die. Ryan then goes and picks up both the disc and briefcase and walks off in to the distance. while all this has happened Aaron has watched over the whole deal and now goes to follow Ryan.
We then come out of the flashback and back to wear we started when we see Aaron following Ryan down an alleyway. We see them follow each other at walking pace for the next 2 or 3 scenes and then Aaron starts running causing Ryan to react and he does the same thing. They run across roads down paths and alleyways until Ryan comes to a halt when he can go no further. Aaron holds his gun up to tell Ryan that he has been arrested but he doesnt obey him and they now stand face to face holding a gun up each. The screen then goes dark and we hear a gun shot but the audience dont know who's died.
