Paramount pictures are a Film and television priduction/distribution studio, consistently ranked as one of the largest film studios. It is subsidiary of U.S. media conglomerate Viacom, paramount is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America. It has distributed various commercially successful film series, such as Shrek, Star Trek, Jackass, Indiana Jones, Kung-fu-panda.
Paramount is the fifth oldest surviving film studio in the worls behind Universal Studios, Nordisk Film, Pathé, and Garumont Film Company. It is the last major film studio still headquartered in the Hollywood disstrict of Los Angeles. Paramount dates its ecistence from 1912 founding datt of the Famous Players FIlm Company. Founder Hungarian-born Adolph Zukor, who had been an early investor in nickelodeons, saw that movies appealed mainly to working class imigrants.
